LIFT: Leading Inclusive Futures Through Technology 

Camden has partnered with Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets to deliver the LIFT programme.  It aims to offer new opportunities and promising futures to residents. The opportunities are in the thriving local technology, science and digital sectors. 

Recruitment 

LIFT helps businesses to recruit skilled and diverse local talent, through: 

  • A dedicated account manager giving end-to-end support with recruitment. From pre-screening and interview right up to ‘in-work’ support and progression guidance. 

  • Sector understanding and expert. Tailored support to grow your own talent through apprenticeships, internships and work experience. 

  • Recruitment to these opportunities. Through our pipeline of local talent and extensive networks across four London boroughs. 

Apprenticeships 

Apprenticeships help you to make sure you get the skills you need in your workforce now and for the future. LIFT can offer support at every stage of the apprenticeship journey. They offer advice, practical support and funding: 

  • Matching you with training providers and apprenticeship programmes up to level 6. Covering all ‘knowledge sectors’ including tech and digital, creative and science. 

  • A dedicated employer engagement officer. Supporting you in developing and matching job roles to apprenticeships. 

  • End to end support throughout the recruitment process. Including creating accessible job descriptions, promoting and advertising, pre-screening and interviewing candidates. 

  • Access to a pool of talented local candidates. Across four London boroughs through our network of community outreach and employment services. 

  • Funding to cover training costs for small businesses through shared apprenticeship levy funds. 

  • Up-to-date advice and guidance on further funding and grants available. 

Affordable Workspace 

LIFT can help entrepreneurs from under-represented backgrounds to access co-working space. No matter your financial situation.  

We have access to a range of desk space across our boroughs to support you launch and grow your business.  

The offer includes: 

  • access to workshops and events 

  • drop-in support sessions for your business 

  • access to meeting space  

  • communal hot desking 

These offer plenty of benefits including: 

  • opportunity to meet other entrepreneurs and collaborate 

  • a place to find focus away from home 

  • and gives you the ability to host meetings with clients or partners 

LIFT have access to subsidised desk space to help your business. Through our partners at Plexal, who have spaces in Shoreditch and Hackney Wick. The offer is as follows: 

  • Plexal, Here East, E15 2GW. Offering hot desk memberships for 6 months at a price of £100+vat per month. This would normally cost £240 per month + VAT. 

or 

  • Plexal, Shoreditch, offer access for one day a week for 6 months. At £16 a day rather than £30 a day. We only have a small number of these so please be quick as it will be offered on a first come first served basis.
