You can order copies of any birth, marriage, civil partnership or death that was registered in Camden after 1837. We can also access registrations in the former historic districts of St Pancras, Hampstead and Holborn.
There are different processes if the registration happened before or after 1940.
Order certificates for registrations after 1940
You can buy certificates at the registration appointment, or order them online at any time after registration.
If you have registered a birth or death at a different register office, allow 5 working days for us to receive the details.
You’ll need to provide details from the certificate and your contact details, in case we need to speak to you.
It can take up to 15 working days to process orders (not including postage time).
If you need help ordering certificates online, contact us.
Express service for certificates
We have an express service for a higher fee, which lets you collect certificates on the same or next working day in-person from our register office. We can also send by first class post if you prefer, and the cost is included.
To get your certificate the same day, you must order it before midday, Monday to Friday. You can collect it between 2pm and 4pm that day.
If you order after midday, you can collect it the next working day between 2pm and 4pm.
We're closed from 1pm on the first Thursday of each month.
