Leisure and the environment
Being green doesn’t have to be a chore. There are so many ways to have fun and relax without damaging the environment.
Love shopping? Why not save money and try swapping instead? Come to one of our give and take days, see if you can find a treasure in our reuse container at Regis road recycling and reuse centre, or check out your local freecycle. If you really want to spend money, why not try pop into one of Camden’s many charity shops and pick up a bargain.
Gardening is a great and low cost way to relax and get fit. For help, see our tips on sustainable gardening, and you can pick up a plant in the plant exchange which takes place at our regular give and take days. If you don’t have a garden of your own join one of our band of parks volunteers and meet some like minded people while you help make Camden greener.
Camden has 70 parks and open spaces, with sports and exercise facilities, opportunities for volunteering and vast green stretches for simply relaxing and getting some fresh air. To find out more, see the guide to parks and open spaces
