Swiss Cottage Central Library
88 Avenue Road
London NW3

The gallery provides opportunities for local artists, especially those from traditionally marginalised or under-represented groups, to engage the local community.

We deliver an annual programme of exhibitions and events that reflect our commitment to reduce inequality and promote diversity.

Swiss Cottage Gallery presents eight exhibitions a year, each lasting four to six week. Exhibitions are mixed to create a breadth of reach at local, regional and occasionally national levels.

The gallery is programmed for a minimum of 18 months in advance. The programme is agreed by the Principal Arts Development Officer in line with the Camden Arts and Tourism Service Plan:

Silia Ka Tung Chiral

Art on canvass

Silia Ka Tung grew up with a fascination for nature and the human body. Her exhibition shows imaginary micro-graphics and doodle scenes of living organisms, a magical world celebrated on canvas. Silia uses vivid, saturated colours and crispy lines against flat backgrounds. Her dynamic compositions reflect the influence of cartoons, billboards and the computer games of her youth, as well as that of traditional Chinese folk art.

Angela Inglish Railway Lands

King's Cross gas works

Photographs in this exhibition appear in Angela Inglis’ photographic book, Railway Lands, which was published on 14 November 2007 to celebrate the opening of St Pancras International. They record the transition and development in King’s Cross, due to the restoration of St Pancras Station and the building of the new train shed.

The photographs capture many iconic elements of the area’s industrial heritage such as the triple gas-o-meters that have already been displaced by the regeneration of the area.
