We offer MOT vehicle testing to the community.
Please note that since we are not affiliated to any commercial car repairers, the testing is completely impartial and there is no risk of repairs/faults being found which would the generate revenue for our service.

York Way Depot is located approximately three quarters of a mile north of King's Cross Station, just off York Way.
When heading north on York Way from King's Cross, Freight Lane is located on the left at the traffic light junction situated between the London Overground and Channel Tunnel railway bridges.
Public transport: Bus service 390, which runs along York Way, nearest stops are:
- Southbound at "York Way Railway Bridge" (then walk back on yourself 50 metres and cross over to Freight Lane)
- Northbound at "Randell's Road" (continue walking 100 metres in the same
direction until you reach Freight Lane)
Types of vehicles
Fleet services can carry out an MOT test on the following classes of vehicles only:
- Class 4 - cars and light commercials up to 3000kgs
- Class 5L - minibuses over 12 seats
- Class 7 - vans 3000-3500kgs
How can I book a test
To make a booking, please contact fleet services
You can make a booking between 8.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
When making a booking request, please provide as many details as you can:
- Contact details (phone and /or email)
- Vehicle model
- Vehicle registration number
- Fuel type
- Preferred date and time
We can carry out your MOT test while you wait.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
A range of test appointments are often available but fleet services cannot always meet requests for specified times. Let us know when when booking which dates suit you and we will try to accommodate you as far as possible.
It may be possible to give you a cancellation or short notice appointment.
If I cannot get a suitable appointment what will I do?
Please provide as much notice as possible. You are allowed to have an MOT done up to four weeks prior to the expiry date.

If your vehicle is re-presented within 10 working days of a failure then the retest is free of charge.
The cost of a replacement certificate is £10.00
How do I pay?
Payment is by debit/credit card (preferred) or cash. Cheques are not accepted.
Can I cancel my test appointment?
Yes, provided you give one clear days’ notice, which does not include the date you contact fleet services or the date of the test. These clear days do not include Saturdays, Sundays and public or bank holidays.
For example, if you want to cancel an appointment for Tuesday you must tell us by the previous Friday. Your appointment confirmation will advise you of the last day you can cancel your appointment.

What happens after the test?
If your vehicle passes its MOT test you will be issued with an MOT certificate which will be valid for up to 13 months from the date of issue. If it does not pass, you will be given a record sheet containing details of the faults which will have to be repaired for the retest.
What happens if there are problems with the MOT test or certificate?
If you are unhappy with the way your MOT test was carried out please ask for an appeal form, or you can download the form from the UK government website Directgov
