Workplace health

Many people will spend around a third of their lives in work, and more than two thirds of adults are in employment. The workplace is a great opportunity for employers to improve and promote people’s health and wellbeing, which can impact on staff productivity, engagement, turnover and levels of sickness.

The London Healthy Workplace Charter

The London Healthy Workplace Charter, backed by the Mayor of London, provides clear and easy steps for employers to make their workplaces healthier and happier.

The Healthy Workplace Charter is a set of standards that organisations meet in order to receive an official accreditation (and award). Camden Council helps support businesses to achieve this award, please see the ‘get in touch’ section below for more information.

The Charter has three award levels:

Commitment level: this is the entry level for organisations that have recently started the process.

Achievement level: this is the intermediate level for organisations that have a more advanced and comprehensive approach to employee wellbeing.

Excellence level: this is the advanced level for organisations that demonstrate that health and wellbeing are embedded in their corporate culture and values
