Leisure and the environment
Being green doesn’t have to be a chore. There are so many ways to have fun and relax without damaging the environment.
Love shopping? Why not save money and try swapping instead? Come to one of our give and take days, join Streetbank to see what people are sharing in your neighbourhood. If you really want to spend money, why not try pop into one of Camden’s many charity shops and pick up a bargain.
Gardening is a great and low cost way to relax and get fit. For help, see our tips on sustainable gardening. You can also join Project Dirt to find events such as plant swaps and training, and projects such as community gardens in your area. If you don’t have a garden of your own join one of our band of parks volunteers and meet some like minded people while you help make Camden greener. You may wish to join the Camden Green Gym and get fit while looking after the environment.
Camden has 70 parks and open spaces, with sports
and exercise facilities, opportunities for volunteering and vast green
stretches for simply relaxing and getting some fresh air. To find out more, see the
