West Hampstead is well loved for its village feel, variety of shops and cafés on both West End Lane and Mill Lane. The large residential community, the historic buildings and village green all contribute to this vibrant neighbourhood.
The area has excellent public transport links, which together with a number of under used sites around the railway lines means there are opportunities for significant investment in the area.
Building works and major planning applications are already happening in the area and it is important to make the most of these and other investment opportunities to meet local needs and achieve a shared vision.
West Hampstead place plan
The place plan is designed to have a real influence on the future of West Hampstead.
It involves working with communities and stakeholders to understand local priorities, challenges and opportunities.
It is about how we direct the range resources available in the area to effectively tackle issues and make the most of its many opportunities.
Crucially it is about influencing how we will work together to best achieve improvements for the communities of West Hampstead.
