Camden Council is building replacement homes for the council tenants and resident leaseholders set to lose their homes to High Speed Two (HS2).
These include residents in Silverdale, Eskdale and Ainsdale blocks on Regent’s Park Estate and some living in Cobourg Street and Melton Street.
In a survey of their housing needs, 70% of affected residents told us they wanted to remain within ten minutes’ walk of their current home.
We are determined to support residents who want to stay in the communities they know and love. We’ve secured funding from HS2 to replace the homes, many of which we’re now building on this estate.
We’re building 116 new homes on eight sites on the estate. This includes 90 replacement homes, 11 council homes, five shared ownership homes and ten private homes, as well as facilities for everyone like a new community hall, shops and shared gardens.
We’ll also use 70 of the new Stanhope and Winchester apartments on Stanhope Street as replacement housing.
