Further and higher education

Camden houses Westminster Kingsway College and much of the University of London and other university colleges, offering a diverse range of further and higher education courses.

As well as full or part-time programmes, colleges offer other interest-based courses and lecture programmes, weekend schools and workshops:

  • Westminster Kingsway College – Further education and adult education college with two centres in Camden
  • NVQ sport and recreation courses
  • Alexandra College – Camden’s new provision for young people aged 16 to 25 with profound and multiple learning difficulties or severe learning difficulties.
  • Leighton College – a further education facility for young adults aged between 16-25 years with mild to moderate learning difficulties and disabilities run by Elfrida Rathbone Camden.
  • www.learndirect.com – Learndirect is a government initiative referring people from age 16 to all forms of courses up to post-graduate
  • www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance – The Directgov student finance portal has been built to help students find out exactly how much financial help they are entitled to - from both the government and from universities and colleges - and how to get hold of it.
  • www.floodlight.co.uk – Full-time courses run by government-funded colleges, universities and adult education centres in all the London boroughs

  • Which? University – A free-to-use, independent source of information providing advice on student finance, degree courses and universities.
