The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a nationwide scheme for employees working for Camden or other employers participating in the scheme.

Camden, Merton, Richmond & Wandsworth Annual Benefit Statements Update

The Annual Benefit Statements (ABS) are being posted to home addresses by 2nd class post.
We would like to apologise for the late issue of your annual benefit statements (ABS). Your statement should have been issued by 31 August but this has not been possible because of data problems associated with the new pension scheme. In essence producing your ABS requires data from your payroll provider that includes pensionable pay for any service up to 31 March 2014 and a new Career Average Pay figure for service from that date. Almost all Local Government Pension Schemes administrators in the UK have experienced the same problems and we are working closely with all payroll providers in order to prevent these problems recurring next year.

We have undertaken checks on the data from your payroll provider and have issued statements where we have reasonable confidence in the data supplied. However, you should also check that the pay and service details shown are correct. In the event that you have a query, please could you put this in writing to this email address: pensionsABS@wandsworth.gov.uk Please read the accompanying notes pages before contacting us as the answer to your question may be covered in the notes.

In the event that your query relates to the information we have been given, for example the pay details or the number of hours you work in a week, we will forward this query to your employer. We will copy you into any correspondence that we send, let you know your employer’s reply and update your records with any revised information. You will then see the changes on your next statement.

If you do need to contact us please quote your employment number or national insurance number and your pension fund. This information is on the first page of your statement. Additionally, if your pension fund is not your employer, please let us know the name of your employer.

You may have read about and seen the adverts on TV recently about the forthcoming flexibilites around withdrawing money from pension schemes. We have been receiving enquiries about whether members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) can use these new flexibilities so more information about these provisions and how they interact with the LGPS can be found here. You should be aware that these new arrangements apply to Defined Contribution pension saving arrangements and not Defined Benefit pension schemes so these arrangements do not directly affect the LGPS.
