British Sign Language (BSL) interpreting services

BSL logoWe have a BSL translation service on our website which means you can contact council services/departments through a BSL interpreter. You need a webcam for this. Just look for this sign.

When you click on this, you will be connected to a BSL interpreter through a webcam. The BSL interpreter will translate your questions.

We also have a BSL interpreting service in all Camden libraries, five children’s centres and registry office so you can talk to the staff there using the Sign Translate service through a webcam.

This service is also available at the Contact Camden reception hub in King’s Cross, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

TexMee

TexMee service Deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired people can contact us through TexMee – this is like texting/SMS.

You can use this service in two ways: using the website or using a mobile app which you can download on your mobile.

To use this service using the website, click on the link and follow the instructions:

If you want to use this on your mobile, you need to download the TextMee app from your app provider for your phone.

You can access council services Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm (except for bank holidays).

If there is an emergency, you can still use this service to make a report. For example if there is burst water pipe or a housing repair.
