What is Camden Safety Net?
We provide services to survivors of domestic violence as well as to children affected by violence.
Perpetrators who wish to change their abusive behaviour can access services such as a men's group focusing on domestic violence.
Camden Safety Net provides services to survivors and their families who live in the London Borough of Camden.
Camden Safety Net provides the following services:
- incident workers meet with victims of domestic violence and give advice and support
- referrals and assistance linking to appropriate agencies who can help, such as Women's Aid Refuges, housing, victim support, legal services, support groups and community centres, parenting support
- follow-up services to ensure that appropriate help has been given
- counselling for survivors and their children
- confidence building workshops for women
- older people - we can help you assess your situation and get help
- same sex domestic violence - help in accessing services such as housing or linking up with gay or lesbian centres
- men's group for men who are abusive/violent in their relationships
- interpreters as needed
- specific cultural support
- Sylheti-speaking incident worker; British Sign Language.
- leaflets about the project are available in these languages: English, Bengali, Somali, Albanian, Turkish, Portuguese, French, and Arabic
- a health worker provides training for Camden health professionals on domestic violence and refers patients in to Camden Safety Net.
