Green gyms

Green Gyms are fun and FREE outdoor gardening and conservation sessions where you will be guided in practical activities such as planting trees, growing food, sowing meadows, and establishing wildlife ponds.

There are up to six Green Gym sessions a week in Camden running all year round held in over 20 green spaces.

What’s involved?

An experienced leader will run through tool safety and the tasks for the day. Gloves and tools are provided and, we strongly recommend that you wear sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing to suit conditions on the day. Light refreshments are provided, but please bring a packed lunch if you'd like.

The sessions are open to all, and you don’t need any previous experience.  Unlike other gardening and conservation projects, the emphasis is very much on health and fitness - volunteers warm up and cool down in preparation for a range of light to vigorous activities to suit all abilities.

How to join a Green Gym?

Joining a Green Gym is as simple as turning up on the day and meeting the leader at the meeting point. No need to pre-book or sign up in advance.
