Time banded collections

The time banded collections were introduced to:
  • improve street and environment quality
  • avoid obstruction on our streets
  • reduce the amount of illegally dumped waste
  • encourage and change business behaviour towards waste and the environment
A business must comply with the following when placing bags and containers for collection:
  • place your recycling and waste out on the public highway 30 minutes before the time of collection
  • keep your recycling and waste off streets
This does not apply to containers or waste that are presented for collection on private property or forecourts. The timed collection areas are Hampstead, Camden Town, Haverstock Hill, Kentish Town Road, Seven Dials, Fortune Green Road, West End Lane and Queen’s Crescent.  To view the roads covered and collection times, please click on your area.

Enforcement approach

Businesses need to take responsibility for the management of their waste. Those that do not comply can expect enforcement action to be taken against them.

Enforcement notices and fixed penalty notices (FPNs) can be issued for non-compliance, but these will not be used as a means of measuring the success of the project. If the education is successful and all businesses and residents comply with the time banded collections, there will be no need to issue any enforcement notices or FPNs.

Duty of Care

There is a convenient and safe way to recycle business electrical items. Items can be collected directly from your premises and securely recycled back into raw materials. All business WEEE collections are charged a £95.00+VAT collection fee. For more information visit wise up to waste
