What is neighbourhood planning?

Communities can influence the future of their neighbourhood by preparing a neighbourhood plan that sets out the vision for their local area and general planning policies to guide developments.

Latest neighbourhood planning news

  • The Council has formally agreed the redesignation of the Kentish Town and Highgate Neighbourhood Forums for a further 5 years.
  • The Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan has been approved at a local referendum on 21st June and now forms part of the development plan for the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan. To view the Plan and supporting documents, please see Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan

Adopted neighbourhood plans 

There are three adopted neighbourhood plans in Camden:

It is intended that the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan will be taken to Cabinet and Council for adoption this Autumn (2018). In line with legislation, the Council will give the Plan full statutory weight following the referendum result.
