Neighbourhood planning
What is neighbourhood planning?
Communities can now prepare neighbourhood plans to influence the future of their areas. These allow communities to set out their vision for their local area and general planning policies to guide development in their neighbourhood.
Frequently asked questions
We have prepared a leaflet which explains more about neighbourhood planning and answers some of the frequently asked questions. It also sets out a number of key issues for you to consider if you are thinking of preparing a neighbourhood plan in your area:
We are Camden
From feedback received at our neighbourhood planning workshops, it was clear that groups felt that a web based discussion forum, where contacts and ideas could be shared between different groups across the borough, would be useful.
We are Camden is an online community where the people of Camden come together to talk about local issues, ideas and solutions.
We have created a page especially for neighbourhood planning which is used as a platform to discuss issues surrounding the whole topic.
The regulations
You can also find more information on the Act, including the Government’s pilot or ‘vanguard’ neighbourhood planning schemes on the Department for Communities and Local Government website
