About Pancras Square

Getting to 5 Pancras Square

Below you can see the location of the new council building, marked as 5 Pancras Square.

Location of the new 5 Pancras square building

Pancras Square is a two minute walk from King's Cross and St Pancras underground and overground stations. It can be accessed from both Pancras Road or Pancras Square via King's Boulevard. From Somers Town there is easy access through St Pancras Station.

Lighting will be improved in the tunnel under St Pancras Station (Goods Way/Pancras Rd) to make it more attractive and safe. We are also working with TfL to explore ways to improve pedestrian connections across Euston Road for example creating more pedestrian crossings.

Disabled parking bays are provided on Camley Street and on Pancras Road just near the entrance to 5 Pancras Square.

Why move to a new building?

5 Pancras Square is:

Cost effective: by selling old inefficient buildings we are able to provide these new community facilities at no additional cost to Camden’s council tax payers. See the list of buildings have sold or are selling on our list of FAQs.

Green: built to the highest environmental standards, 5 Pancras Square will cut carbon emissions and reduce energy costs. Through selling old inefficient accommodation and moving to the new site, we will cut carbon emissions by an estimated 64%. Based on current energy costs this would lead to projected annual savings of more than £500,000.

Efficient: by bringing the majority of our office based staff to one site, we are able to save money and work together to deliver better services to you.

Collaborative: the new building will mean that we can work more collaboratively and productively within our organisation and with our partners delivering better services.
